Brooklyn Coachworks is keen on bringing unique and interesting builds to our customers. This first year 1958 Land Rover Series II is just one of those examples. This particular Series has the credit to back it up. It crossed Australia from North to South, and also East to West. That is no easy task. Most expedition leaders would attributed that one of the hardest trips one can do. Incredibly extensive records detailing exactly what and when parts were changed, modified, and serviced. It has a completely reconditioned 2.25L engine with a totally reconditioned gearbox upgraded to Series III spec giving 4 synchromeshed gears. Everything was built on a galvanized One-Ton chassis. Heavy-Duty front and rear axles. Brakes are 11" with all new brake-lines. Twin fuel tanks. A 20 gallon fresh water tank beneath rear tray and 255/85R16 (33”) BF Goodrich KM2 tires on genuine Wolf wheels.
The dash is fitted with a number of non standard gauges which monitor oil pressure and temperature. Gearbox temperature. Volt meter and a fully working Altimeter. It has the correct Land Rover window demisters. The windscreen has modern laminated glass. It is fitted with the correct working capstan winch on the front. The back tray is covered in a canvas hood, with roll up windows. There is provision and wiring for a portable fridge. Tropical roof on cab, new headlining and stereo/CD player fitted to roof inside of cab.
